Worn Leather - Words

Connecticut. Known for their world-renowned thimble shops, beaches that are off-limits to anyone making less than $5,000,000 a year, cities you wouldn’t want to step foot in for any reason other than to destroy a restroom in one of their many, many Quiznos, and the 100,000 tons of steroids that get trucked into WWE headquarters hourly. Also known for rapper Apathy, who is synonymous in my mind with having to have a smoke break (my co-workers have awful taste in hip-hop). Not every state can be the cultural mecca that is Rhode Island. But New Haven’s Worn Leather, on the other hand, have written this gem against all odds. Likely as an entire state of Young Conservatives, thieves, and roided-out wrestling hopefuls/bouncers at America’s only Papa John’s Pizza nightclubs have turned their backs to the creative impulse and left bands to their own devices. A group like Worn Leather reach out and hope for someone to run a rescue mission and come for their music. Well, this is perhaps the catchiest song in all of Southern New England right now, and it could use an outside push in getting it to the people beyond the borders of the country’s worst state*.

Both of their demos can be found HERE.

*I’ve only stopped in Connecticut on my way to New York. I based a lot of that info on what I think are safe assumptions.

this entire review is just someone who has probably only ever seen rich parts of Southern CT or something talking about how much CT sucks, which is totally obnoxious, but I’m glad my dudes are getting some recognition. Seriously one of my favorite bands right now.

Cerys wanted to make a video of herself so uh….
